Working together to create radio that matters in the Flint Hills

KONZ Radio Is You!

Volunteering at KONZ can take many, many paths.  KONZ needs volunteers who come in for events a few times each year, and other volunteers who can spend several hours each week working at the station. Volunteers can be of any age and can come from any walk of life. KONZ intends to be inclusive and have a thriving multicultural community working together to create radio that matters in the northern Flint Hills.

Our community of volunteers can do everything from front desk work, keeping the station tidy, community reporting, hosting information booths at community events, clerical support, news writing, documentary making, engineering live music, operating sound boards, engineering and computer help, editing podcasts, website maintenance and updates, and many, many other things.

How To Get Started…

To become a KONZ volunteer, you must complete a three step process:

1. Attend a Volunteer Orientation for new volunteers.
2. Schedule a one-to-one interview with the Volunteer Coordinator to explore the realities of your schedule, interests and KONZ’s needs.
3. Complete your first assignment.

Interested? Contact KONZ for all of the details about how to get involved! Call us at 785-539-8763, or send an e-mail to:volunteer@konzfm.org.

Membership Drive

Twice a year KONZ – Flint Hills Community Radio will need volunteers to help with our membership drives. This is an important process and provides KONZ with the financial support it needs to purchase syndicated shows, produce local programming and operate the station.   Volunteers are needed who can answer the phones, accurately record information and fill out forms. KONZ will also need volunteers to help with housekeeping, refreshments, and sorting pledges.

Committees

In the future KONZ will need volunteers to help on a variety of committees - Development, Finance, Youth, and Programming. The best way to work on a committee is to the become a volunteer and learn about the station.
